Solar tiles are essentially a special type of solar cell. They not only efficiently convert solar radiation into electricity but also serve as roofing materials. These tiles are typically designed in a shape similar to conventional tiles or ceramic tiles and can be closely spaced to provide necessary structural support for the roof. They also possess photovoltaic (PV) power generation capabilities. The working principle of solar tiles is similar to that of traditional solar panels. When a solar panel or tile is exposed to sunlight, its internal PV cells absorb light energy and generate a flow of free electrons, thus producing an electric current to power household electrical appliances. However, the main difference between solar tiles and traditional solar panels lies in their integrated design-the perfect combination of solar cells and the roofing envelope.
